Artha is contributing 1% of its Sale proceeds from its Grihasta Project for the Sishu griha initiative which shall meet a majority part of capital expenditure required towards the construction and development of Shishu griha. A Trust has been formed and registered .The application for exemption from Income Tax is in process and we are hopeful that the Government will provide the exemption for this noble cause. Capital expenditure is expected to be around Rs. 60 lakhs and the operating cost to nurture and maintain 50 children would be aprox Rs. 1.50 lakhs per month. We are not collecting any funds from external sources for any capital expenditure. However, the trust needs all the support and contributions of like minded people for successful running of the shelter home. Want to be part of the initiative ? Click here to see how you can help.
Day Care centres at Artha Construction sites
Artha has multiple construction sites where constructions are in full swing with hundred of workers employed by the contractors. These workers bring their children to work and leave them in the site when they are working. The Management of Artha and Trustees of Shishugriha felt that it was their duty and responsibility to provide day care facilities and food to these children as it was a security hazard if they wander in the site when their parents were working. So, SG day care was launched on 11th June 2012 at Grihasta site to provide day care, lunch and snacks to construction workers children who are working at the site.
SG Day care at Grihasta now has 40 children enrolled and they make use of the facility provided. ShishuGriha has employed two caretakers to take care of the children, feed them and engage them throughout the day. Our second day care at Reviera in Chandpura went operation in October and two more are planned for the first quarter of 2013. The plan is to replicate the same day care facility in all construction sites in the coming year.
